Default Update the Fissure of Woe

Anyone who has played end-game Nightfall will have them.

Menzies servents wandering the Realm of Torment. Most with completely different builds.

Should Anet implement them into the existing FoW? I mean after 3 Chapters FoW is getting extremely easy now. Shadow Beasts are all the same, a completely worthless enemy once you interrupt SS. Shadow Mesmers are just your average Domination mesmer, where the new versions kept killing a friend who activated Frenzy at the wrong time and did Evis/Exec and killed himself (^^). Shadow Eles can still do lots of damage, but are a nice change. Shadow Monks are still superhealers. Shadow Warriors can have a little more survivability. Shadow Rangers... are the same i think.

Its an end game high level multi chapter accessable area. The least they could do is modify the enemy skillbars to include things from all 3 chapters and actually sort out the skills/attribute distribution. Maybe even add a little variety, instead of finding 4 Shadow Mesmers all with the exact same skillbars, make it 4 Shadow Mesmers that could be any of 2 or 3 different builds.

Of course something would have to be done with the other mobs like Skeletons, Skales, Hydra, etc, but seriously, after fighting Shadow Beasts using Spiteful Spirit and Mark of Pain where Spiteful Spirit and Reckless Haste would now be the obvious combo for around a year its really time for a change.

Anyone else think its time FoW (and maybe even UW) got make overs?

I agree, i mean it is kind of dumb to have an "elite" area that is open for players of all three campagns, but only have the same old content they had over a year ago upon the release of Prophecies.
It needs a makeover that includes new quests, enemies(THAT USE SKILLS FROM ALL CHAPTERS) and dare i say it new drops.
Not much of an elite area if u can take everything down with the same group you used over a year ago.

Both FoW and Uw need a remake, would be a nice change. As for the farmer, meh, they will cry a few weeks and say the games dead until some one come out with a built to solo them.

I think updates to those Realms of the Gods are in order.

The Realm of Torment is so much more difficult than either, imo, and that's just kinda sad. I really do think that both could use some updates, especially in enemy skill bars.

Isn't Fissure of Woe and Underworld both Core end-game places? It would make sense to keep it as the way it is because the monsters there only use Core skill right?

Why? The original core skills are mostly useless as they stand. Mix and matching skills from 3 chapters creates both good combinations and challenging enemies. Where would Spiteful Spirit be without Reckless Haste or Blurred Vision without Chilling Winds (possibly the most annoying combo known to man)?

These areas have become a joke. UW isn't that bad, the number of groups that actually go down there to fully clear is very small. FoW is just easy now. With 3 chapters worth of skills to use against enemies with only 1 chapter behind them the methods of dispatching them are becoming extremely numerous.

As Sientir said... the Realm of Torment is actually harder than the Fissure of Woe. Enemy skillbars really need updating. Personally i still don't understand why Skales and Driftwood have 2 elites.

I agree. The Fissure of Woe and Underworld need a make over to increase the difficulty level. It's pretty easy to clear them now with all the new skills and combinations.

I want to see more closely that logos Menzies wear...
They look strangely like White Matle ones...

Well, Mezies have more friends, but he still hates his brother.

Why no to send them again to his brother's room to bother?

That is what any annoying brother would do.

I'm all for more difficulty, and I would like to see them set it up so that all classes will have a chance at getting a group. There should be areas where one specific class wil completely rape and others will be nigh worthless. And I don't care about farming, already got my FoW armor, lol

It's only because it is an oft farmed place and people have done it millions and millions of times. There was a time when FoW was a real challenge. But do anything enough and it isn't a challenge. To most people the whole of the Prophecies campaign is a walk in the park. There used to be loads of people complaining about the difficulty of some missions, but now, it has been done so much that it isn't a challenge any more. Does that mean they should redo the Prophecies campaign?

I suppose the reason FoW/UW deserves it is because they are core areas.

I must say, if it got an overhaul I'd be likely to go back there. I don't like farming, the only reason I ever went was for a challenge and that is gone now. You can complete it with a team of 4 or 5 relatively fast and with no problems because a cookie cutter build has been devised and refined to do exactly that.

So, I think, yes /signed

Tbh I would sign an update to any PvE area

It would add excitement and new replayability to that area. Great idea!

This idea I like even more! Only the statues of Grenth and Balthazar do anything. I wonder can we visit a realm of Lyssa, Melandru, or Dwayna?

It could do with an update and it's a fantastic idea. However, theres valid reason to keep the skills core. It's not like there aren't other ways to make it more challenging...

-Upping levels to 28 (like Factions elite area)
-Increasing numbers
-Artificially increasing hp an mp Aatxe style (though I guess this would be similar to a level increase)
Adding more mob cross-overs. Shadow army with Chaos foes? More Dragon Lich'?

Just some ideas. I do think theres good reason to keep the skills core. Not everyone has all the chapters. (Though the pvp situation could make this a point moot).

No tourment monsters though, they can change the builds of current monsters but I do not want to deal with tourment mobs in fow.

For one simple reason... Nostalgia

The old prophecies missions are great to go back to every once and again, i for one love to go back into FoW once every blue moon with a few guildies just to recreate the ood old days before the expansion packs.

The new harder areas are there to create new challenges, why not stick to them and leave our past untouched.

Analogy - The spitfire was an impressive machine in it's time, yet we now have the stealth bombers. Would you put a stealth engine into a spitfire? No, you would ruin the history.

Leave our historic GW untouched, i love going back in time to reattempt missions!!!

(I do not farm)

The only change I would like to see is in that first quests. Beyond that the FOW has lots of variety depending on where you take your party. The bordom most complain about is for those that keep going to unlock the forge for armor then quit instead of moving on to do the rest of the quests or explore all of the other areas.

no need to farm ive got my FOW armor and my Crystaline sword!
